Entrepreneur Spotlight: Briana Yelverton

Name: Briana Yelverton

Company Name: Briana Yelverton Creative

Company Description: Briana Yelverton Creative is a graphic design company offering branding and web design solutions for small businesses with big ideas.

Why did you decide to start your own business?

After graduating from college, I had two careers in the field of marketing within four years that both involved designing promotional material. Over the years, I fell in love with graphic design, and I wanted to focus solely on my passion.

When did you know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur when I wanted a work-life balance and creative freedom that I did not have while working in my 9 to 5.

What are some of the successes that you've experienced as an entrepreneur?

My successes include every client that I've made happy. Launching a brand is a big step, and I'm just as happy when entrepreneurs choose me to build their brand. To this day, I've received awesome testimonials from each of my clients, and it makes what I love to do so rewarding!

What challenges have you had to overcome?

Most of the time, graphic designers are the type that succeed behind a keyboard and don't interact much with people. As marketing your business comes into play and you're attending networking events and seminars, you have to be in the role of a public speaker as well. This is something I'm constantly practicing, and I'm getting better and better everyday.

What advice would you give an aspiring entrepreneur?

Go for it. Not now, but right now! No idea is silly. I started with a dream and an Instagram page with zero followers. No time is the perfect time. The longer you wait, the longer you hold off on your endeavors.

If you could start all over again, what would you do different?

Nothing would be done differently. I stepped out on faith, and made the best decision of my life. My past careers prepared me for entrepreneurship. I learned skills in my former positions that I now use in my own business everyday. I'm so thankful for my path.
